People need to evaluate this objectively. If you are going to be stopped for a traffic infraction the police should not harass citizens for any further inquiry. If this was the mainstream behavior or pattern of all policemen during a routine traffic stop then law abiding citizens would feel inconvenienced just for committing traffic violation. Furthermore asking to search the vehicle is another trick to harass law abiding citizens, specifically when they bring the dog who always seems to give the alert to the police. Just as Groundhog Phil only secretly talks to its seers, the dog silently will communicate with the handler and for some reason always seems to say that it smells drugs though in more than 50% of the times no drugs are ever found.

I don't agree with how the cops did this search. I'm a law abiding citizen and this was cruel misuse of power. you found absolutely nothing of importance. the men arrested handled themselves with great dignity.

This is a bad case of profiling.

This cop is getting pissed hes not finding anything else, and OMFG he sure is trying! I keep telling people the cops can do whatever they want, and text book law works in the classroom, not on the streets! Theres the way things are suppose to be, then theres the way things are! Justification for any search at any time is ,"I smell Marijuana", and thats that! Oh, I cant search your car, well here come the dogs!

My opinion? Stop violating United States citizens constitutional rights to invent crimes or find wrong with someone you clearly profile. Your police work is disgusting, do the job you were hired to do not what you think the job should be.

But if you keep cool as a cucumber, and within the law, only an evil criminal cop is going to hem you up. Which they would’ve done, anyway.

I keep on reading people's comments and it's making me upset to find out everybody thinks that he's in the wrong because he did not consent to search ...Do you not realize that is our right as an American citizen to not allow a cop to search our vehicle unless they have probable cause! I don't think a simple traffic infraction gives the cop probable cause to search their vehicle. The cop asked the guy if he was on probation or on papers and he answered no, so the cop did not have no right to search the vehicle without probable cause! He spoke a little too much by telling the cops that he was a ex-convict and his last charge was 2009 he didn't even have to reveal that to the cops but he "spoke too much" he should have revoked his right to "remain silent"... but in my opinion the only reason that these cops did a extensive search on the vehicle was because they got pissed off that the driver did not consent to a search of the vehicle without probable cause and that made the cops suspicious! But everyone should understand that is our legal right as American citizens to decide if we want to allow the cops to search our vehicle! Maybe if more of us stuck up for our American rights to not allow a cops to waste our time by illegally searching our vehicles then cops would not have such a power trip and think they can do it regardless if we allow it or not!

I see a lot of cop haters in the comments... yapping about how horrible the cops are, and they all skip past the part where the passenger has cocaine in his pocket... yap all you want about how they didnt have probable cause but clearly this was good police work. And could have all been avoided by wearing a seat belt and not having drugs in their possession
